Surprisingly easy

I've been surprised how SL creates drama and heartache with remarkable ease. I've heard it said that one week in SL is like a month in RL. I wouldn't disagree.

  1. Yes it does, and I wonder if people cause more drama here than in RL because they don't have to deal with the drama, all they need to do is log off and leave it at that.

But on the flipside, sometimes our friends here can make a bad day better and put a smile on your face, which can make all the bad times seem not so bad after all.

I guess I was writing about the physical side, rather than the emotional. But perhaps I need to widen the brief.

I can't identify with those people who log off and just switch off SL drama. It's just not how I'm wired. Just as my RL self experiences through my SL self, so SL emotions are passed through the keyboard and screen and mouse too. Those don't go away when the key, screen and mouse are removed.

  3. Exactly...I'm not one of those people who can unplug and leave it behind, I take the good and unfortunately some of the bad with me when I log off. Luckily for me, the good times I've had here far outweigh the bad, and I can leave here knowing that no drama awaits me when I get back, lol.
